Calligraphy for beginners without tools

Different kinds and types of pens and calligraphy tools are now used by many people to write calligraphy and lettering.

In the Philippines, the cheapest set of calligraphy tools available in the market (such as Nib, Nib holder, Calligraphy Ink) will cost (more or less) PHP350.00! For some, the prices of calligraphy tools are kinda pricey especially for beginners who wanted to try their writing skills. But, did you know that you can practice it by just using you pen/sign pen and notebook?

Here's how...

Some called it as "fake calligraphy", but this is good for some who wanted to practice their skills in lettering.

First step, get your pen and your paper.

Your pen is the most important tool here. You must choose the best writing pen.

NOTE: Don't forget to put a thick scratch paper/cardboard under the page where you will write because the ink of your pen might mess up with the next page.

Next thing to do is to write something you want in cursive.

Just play with curves and sizes of each letter, there's no rule in writing your own calligraphy! Be artistic!

When you're done with the word/s or phrase/s you like to write, thicken the lones/parts of each letter where you've written downwards...

And...

Tadaaaaah!!!

Here are some of my calligraphy written using my pen...

Have fun writing and be creative with the lines and curves! :)
